Ode to October – A Valentine’s Day Poem

The emerald summer leaves,

start to detach from trees all around.

They flow gently in the breeze,

coming to rest on a thick’ning mound.

The carpet of orange vibrance,

where summer leaves lay content.

The rich pumpkin fragrance,

cleanses the air with a familiar scent.

The beauty of Autumn sunsets,

blends of peach and salmon forge the light.

The moon emerges, a white lunette,

and bright stars flood the sky at night.
